~Kenneth Brian~

This CD is one of our late discoveries.  The 10 tracks on this album were recorded in 2003 and 2004 and I couldn't even find any info about it on his webpage which just mentioned his new release "Brighter Day".  Anyway, this is a cool release out of Nashville and Kenneth Brian is somebody you definitely want to check out if your into REAL Country music with a bite.

Part traditionalist in the Hank Williams fasion, part rebel like Hank III, he's a Florida Gulf Coast transplant with family roots in West Virginia who knows how to combine Hillbilly style vocals with gritty lyrics, twang and an energizing beat.  Think Wayne Hancock, Hank III, and BR549.  The opener "Wildcat Daddy" is a rambunctious rocker with a lot of drive in a Rockabilly fashion, much like the fast "First Of The Month" and "Jukebox" with some fine steel guitar and fiddle, too.  "Wide Open Spaces" is a fiddle-infused (BR549's Donnie Herron plays fiddle and banjo on this release) lively Bluegrass/Country number while "The River" is an atmospheric alt. Country masterpiece with great dobro playing.  A straight Honky Tonk follows, "Closing Time", a boppin' Hillbilly is next "Road To Run".  Check out this young Honky Tonk rebel and excellent songwriter!  www.kennethbrian.com -GMB
